Thanks to a French retailer, we have gotten our first look at 2 of the upcoming August 1st Lego Star Wars sets. Both the 75389 The Dark Falcon Falcon and 75393 TIE Fighter & X-Wing Mash-up are based on the new animated series "Rebuild the Galaxy", which appears to be similar to the Marvel "What If" series.

Rebuild the Galaxy is turning the Star Wars universe on its head, giving well-loved characters alternative stories, and introducing a bunch of new faces.

There have been various versions of the Millennium Falcon over the past 2 decades, but none quite as different as The Dark Millenium Falcon. The Dark Millenium Falcon has deviated from its classic grey colour scheme in favour of a new all-black look with red highlights.

My favourite part has to be the Death Star Radar dish!

The 1,579-piece Dark Falcon includes 6 new Minifigures: Beach Luke, Jedi Vader, Bounty Hunter C-3PO, Darth Rev, Darth Rey and the Gungan, the Myth, the Legend, Darth JarJar! Someone I never would have expected to see in any form, let alone Lego.

Also revealed was the 1,063-piece TIE Fighter & X-Wing Mash-up (75393). This set contains both an X-Wing and a TIE fighter with the ability to mash both builds together to form two new hybrid builds. This play feature will open a whole new dimension of play for younger audiences.

The TIE Fighter & X-Wing Mash-up (75393) contains 5 new figures with Lego-inspired names, Yesi Scala (Scala being an old Lego theme), Sig Greebling (where Greebling is a building technique), Rebel Pilot, TIE Pilot and Finally an astromech droid called L3-GO (code for Lego) who comes in a red and yellow colour scheme.

Unfortunately, there haven't been any leaks of the set I'm most excited for, Bob's Jedi Starfighter. Although it does leave something more to look forward to.

These sets are definitely aimed at younger audiences but still have a little bit of something for everyone. I look forward to getting to see some clearer pictures, as well as the rest of the August 1st releases.
